Graded Index Plastic Optical Fiber for High Speed Communications
AGC leading edge GI-POF, perfluorinated (PF) plastic optical fiber, has been designed to meet the industry demands for next generation high speed data and video communications. GI-POF features create a new category of high performance with high bandwidth; low loss over a wide wavelength range; and easy handling and installation. GI-POF's extraordinary features are achieved through confinement of light within the core regardless of kinks, bends or knots! AGC has developed a unique, low refractive index (RI) double cladding material structure that allows a bend radius down to < 5mm. There is minimal loss of signal strength and no structural failure.

AGC GI-POF Features
  • High bandwidth (> 10 Gbps at 100m)
  • Low material dispersion (Superior to silica multimode fiber)
  • Easy handling and installation
  • Breakage free (Bends, Kinks and Knots without performance degradation)
  • Superior cost of ownership (highly durable, highly reliable fiber designed for easy assembly and installation)
Easy Handling and Installation
GI-POF's high flexibility makes it easy to handle. The end user has infinite possibilities in new and innovative designs that are unavailable with the competitive products. Provided in simple cable structure, GI-POF makes termination easy and a snap!
Material Dispersion and Bandwidth
GI-POF's high speed and excellent signal performance makes it superior to any silica or "standard" plastic multimode fiber (MMF). You can see that GI-POF improved performance over conventional silica MMF from 500-nm to 1300-nm. This leads to higher bandwidths over wider wavelengths.
